[ Photographs ] (India) Bourne; Frith Series Group of 19 photographs of India by Bourne (13), Bourne and Shepherd 2, the Frith Series 2 and others 1, featuring 5 mini-panoramas of the city of Calcutta, as well as views of the Bailey Guard and residency at Lucknow, the Taj Mahal, and a scene from the Signal Pagoda in Rangoon, together with 3 photographs of Bombay, 2 of Darjeeling natives, a rich shot of a covered bridge, 3 "Bombay Coolies" with their wares, and more. Albumen prints, the panoramas are 7.5 x 12.5 the others are various sizes from 9.25 x 11 to 6.25 x 8 inches, all on their original mounts, 7 are one per page, 11 are mounted recto/verso: the Bourne's with the photographer's credit, number and/or caption in the negative, and 9 titled in a period hand, in pencil or ink, on mount recto, the Frith Series's views with the photographer's blindstamp on recto. 1870s [See Illustration Overleaf]
