[ Photographs ] (INDUSTRIAL) Album entitled "Photographs of the Hauserlake Dam, 1905-1907" comprising over 65 photographs thoroughly documenting the construction of the dam and its facilities. Silver prints, 4.5 x 6.75 (56), 7.5 x 9.5 (6), and 4.5 x 13 (4 two-part panoramas)in, mounted one to 2 per page, recto/ verso, with captions,in white ink, on mounts recto. Oblong folio, gilt-stamped, 1/2 leather, worn. 1905-07 E600/900 Hauser Lake Dam was one of a number of dams along the Missouri River in Montana. Its claim to fame was being one of only 3 steel dams constructed in North America. While concrete was a more popular choice, steel was far cheeper and easier to maintain. Unfortunately, Hauser Lake Dam's foundation was washed one year after its construction and propmtly replaced by its more expensive cousin.
