Vintage silver print, 8.5 x 6.25 inches, with Jacobi's Berlin copyright handstamp and the date and title, written in an unidentified later hand, on verso. 1930 E4000-5000 A Scarce, Vintage Print Whose Negative Was Lost During Jacobi's Escape From Nazi Germany this portrait was taken shortly after Wong visited Europe in 1929 Having attracted attention (at the age of sixteen) in Douglas Fairbanks's film "The Thief of Bagdad," Wong's fame became international, and she left the United States to star in British and German films. She returned to America in the '30s and her films of this and the following decade were dominated by undistinguished crime melodramas. She retired in 1942
