Late 1950s E2000-3000 Portrait of an African-American woman * Douglas and Johnny, shoeshine boys, Coney Island 2 Paula Kotis was first recognized in 1948 when the magazine "U S. Camera" named her Woman of the Month in Photography. Since that time, her work has been exhibited and published widely, in, among other journals, "Photo Arts Magazine, " ,Vogue," "Art News," "Evergreen Review," and "Ebony," in which her 1957 article on shoeshine boys appeared.
