Salted paper print, 7.5 x 10 inches, on the original mount, with the title written in a period hand, in ink, on mount recto. 1850s E1000-1500 The Maison Carree, built AD 1-10, is perhaps the best preserved of all Roman temples. Its details, which bear a resemblance to the Temple of Mars in Rome, suggest that the Maison Carree's construction was undertaken partly by craftsmen sent from that Italian city.
