[ Photographs ] (Trinidad) Group of 6 early photographs of Trinidad, comprising a view of "The Cottage," the temporary residence of the Governor; 2 shots of the Port of Spain; another of St. James's Barracks; and 2 photographs of flora, one showing a sugar cane plantation at the Val-Saint Estate, and the other a forest scene with a giant cotton tree. The first a hand-colored salt print, the others albumen prints, all approximately 6 x 8 inches or the reverse and on their original mounts; the salt print with the date and caption penciled, in a later hand on mount recto, the others with period captions and 2 with period dates, in ink, on mount recto, 2 with the initials "W.T." in the negative and each with a number, in ink, in a period hand, on mount recto. 1859-70
