  • Notes: Lovely portrait of a servant or possibly a slave. A small piece of 19th century wove paper that came with the tintype bears the following notation: "Servant 'Tilda' from Almira Pierce Johnson. We were able to determine that Almira Pierce Johnson (1804-1908) was the wife of Nathaniel Johnson, and daughter of Revolutionary War patriot Levi Pierce.
