PKZ / QUALITE. 1921.
50 1/4x35 1/2 inches. Wolfsberg, Zurich.
Condition B: restored losses and repaired tears in margins; creases in margins and image; vertical and horizontal folds.
A true genius, Baumberger was able to constantly change his style, from the most geometric Art-Deco, to a realism so pure that it presages hyper-realism. For this poster he has depicted a suit in such a realistic and detailed manner that the design seems to announce his upcoming 1923 object-poster masterpiece of the PKZ overcoat. Casually thrown over the back of a chair, elements of this suit's cut and design are apparent and as always the company's legendary logo is visible. This copy bears an imprint for the Winterthur branch of the company. Baumberger no. 91, p. 33.
