  • Notes: first edition printed in England of the treatise on vegetarianism by the 3rd-century Neoplatonic philosopher, first published in 1547 and generally considered the earliest book on the subject, reprinted here with his life of Pythagoras, summary of Neoplatonism, and allegorical interpretation of the 13th book of the Odyssey.
