BLOSSOM WOOD (DATES UNKNOWN) ROYAL WINDSOR. Circa 1935.
39 3/4x25 inches. Jarrold & Sons, London.
Condition A-: minor restoration in lower right corner.
Just 22 miles outside of London, Royal Windsor houses the largest inhabited castle in the world, the eponymous Windsor Castle. This view, from the Great Park (where deer were kept until 1940), shows many of the different kinds of trees that grow in the park as well as an impressive view of the castle itself. Deer were reintroduced to the park in 1979. Nothing is known about Blossom Wood, which was likely a pseudonym.
