DESIGNER UNKNOWN MONTREAL WINTER CARNIVAL. 1889.
37 1/2x13 5/8 inches. American Bank Note Co., N.Y.
Condition B+: restoration along vertical & horizontal folds; repaired tears in image; restoration and restored losses in margins.
An early North American railroad poster advertising "a frosty frolic" in Montreal. Their fifth winter carnival featured "Tobogganing / Snow Shoe Races / Masquerade Balls." Chartered in 1835, the Concord Railway merged with the Boston, Concord & Montreal line in 1889, an event which must have taken place after this poster was printed, as it only mentions one company name.
