Before the massive retrospective of Cassandre's work at the Bibliotheque Nationale de France in 2005, and the equally as expansive show at the Suntory Museum in Osaka in 1995, Poland, with her national respect for graphic arts, organized an exhibition of Cassandre's work in 1990. Here Cieslewicz uses his favorite graphic element, the circle, surrounded by the Franch national colors, as the shutter of a camera. At the center of the lens is Herbert Matter's famous portrait of A. M. Cassandre, taken in New York. It is a simple tribute to the graphic master whom Cieslewicz greatly admired, and it is ingeniously organized to accommodate all of the text.
