In the style of a constructivist rebus, Gymuner uses the fast, telegraphic style of photomontage to deliver an efficient message. The visual equation that is presented, while impossible mathematically, is explained as follows: Thanks to the values, hard work (arithmetic) and "popular enthusiasm" of the Russian work force, the five year plan will be realized in only four years. The adept manner in which Gymuner uses images to convey his message puts him on a par with Mayakowsky and Rodchenko, who were also capable of inventing a new visual vocabulary for their posters.
