  • Notes: Includes illustrations of Soledad Brother George Jackson and others, and a list of notable prison uprisings. In addition to the September 1971 Attica uprising which resulted in 43 deaths, the 1974 August Rebellion at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women is referenced. The list concludes with a reference to the July 1978 Pontiac prison uprising. One in OCLC, at Northwestern University, and none traced at auction.
