  • Notes: Though this postcard addressed to Levi Lem of Alvordton (?) Ohio was never mailed, the reverse bears this long message: "This picture shows how people are hung in the South. The red places on this ****** shirt shows where they shot holes in him after they hung him. A mob took Leo Frank white from jail and lynched him in Ga not long ago." This postcard forms the double-page entry number 21 in James Allen's powerful book "Without Sanctuary."
