RAPHAEL SOYER Union Square.

RAPHAEL SOYER
Union Square.

Lithograph, circa 1928. 180x235 mm; 7 1/8x9 1/4 inches, full margins. Edition unknown but presumably very small. Signed and titled in pencil, lower margin. Printed by Jacob Friedland, New York, with the blind stamp lower right. A superb impression of this scarce, unrecorded lithograph.

The current work is similar in handling and size to Soyer's Bronx Street, 1928; Williamsburg Bridge, 1928; East Side Street, 1928; and several others from the late 1920s and likely dates from the same time (Cole 11, 12 and 13). Not in Cole.
