Group of 4 etchings with engraving and drypoint, circa 1643-49. Biörklund's third state (of 3); Usticke's sixth state (of 6); White and Boon's second state (of 2), after the Captain Baillie rework and the plate was cut down into 4 separate pieces, but before the central portion was arched at the top. Good, dark impressions.
Baillie acquired the plate around 1775 and, after reworking it and printing proofs of the entire subject, cut it down into 4 separate pieces to produce the current works. Bartsch 74; Biörklund 49-I; Hollstein (White and Boon) 74.
