Etching, circa 1629. 158x119 mm; 6 1/4x4 1/2 inches, narrow to thread margins. Usticke's only state (e), with the profusion of vertical scratches in the background and with irregular, unclean and inky plate edges. Foolscap with a 5-pointed collar watermark (Ash/Fletcher 19 F c, which they cite on another impression of the same subject in the Art Institute of Chicago). Ex-collection unknown collectors (Lugt 555 and 2595, verso). A superb, richly-inked and early impression with no sign of wear.
