Biörklund's second state (of 4), before the strong outline around the face and with the blank spaces at the upper and side margins; Usticke's first state (of 3); White and Boon's second state (of 4). Basilisk with the letters RP watermark (Ash/Fletcher 12 A´a). Ex-collection Wetterauer, ink stamp verso (not in Lugt) and unknown collector, inscription in ink, verso (not in Lugt). With thread margins 3 sides, trimmed inside the plate mark but outside the subject lower margin. A superb, early impression with even the most delicate lines printing clearly.
