  • Notes: Manuscripts include: Vellum deed from Francis Brinley of Rhode Island to Thomas Brinley for property in England, witnessed on verso by Governor Benedict Arnold and James Clarke, 5 March 1676 * William Vernon signed receipt, 17 June 1767 * Brown and Ives partly-printed import certificate for tea, 1 April 1803 * Manuscript genealogy of the Greene family concluding with birth of "our son" Nathanael Greene in 1742; quite worn and apparently a later transcript * Certificate for Samuel P. Allen signed by Governor James Fenner, 1808.
    Printed material includes: circular letter from the cotton manufacturers of Providence regarding a foreign competition, 20 October 1815 * Dorr Rebellion broadside titled "Sayles, the Speaker of the Foundry House of Representatives, in the Field" (DeSimone 130) * Two newspapers discussing the Dorr Rebellion (Albany Weekly Argus of 21 May 1842 and Boston Times of 15 April 1842) * Providence Gazette and Country Journal, 25 July 1789 * Providence Manufacturers'' and Farmers'' Journal, 20 September 1824 * Providence Patriot, 17 June 1815 with news of peace treaty * Newport Mercury, 20 April 1802 and 8 August 1807.
