Autograph Letter Signed, to an unnamed government official ("Herr Regierungsrath"), in German, informing him that he has notified first violinist Kämpel that he would not be performing with the Philharmonic this year. 1 page, 8vo; short closed tear at horizontal fold, tissue repair at left edge verso.   • Notes: "First violinist Mr. Kämpel must have received my answer today in which I informed him why it was impossible for me to manage his appearance in the Philharmonic concerts this year. With the assurance that your approval amply indemnifies any other evil persuasion."
    Richter (1843-1916) was the Hungarian court conductor in Vienna between 1875 and 1900, during which time he conducted the first complete performance of Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen at Bayreuth, in 1876.
