Cansino's contract was renewed for her work in Paddy O'Day (1935) and Human Cargo (1936). She was also being considered for a starring role in Ramona (1936) but when Fox Films merged with Twentieth Century, Darryl Zanuck dropped her in favor of Loretta Young.
