  • Provenance: Further information:
From magazine cover: "Robert C. Sherry is perhaps the nation's most acclaimed aviation artist. His legendary paintings are held in private collections throughout the world. He brings to his works a love for aircraft, and a lifetime of flying experience. A pilot licensed to fly all types of civilian aircraft, he was a member of the first Navy crew to fly around the world--and flew rescue missions into Okinawa and Iwo Jima during W.W. II. Now, through an exclusive arrangement with Approach Group 3, you can order dazzling, full-color lithographic reproductions of new, never-before-published Sherry originals."

After working for King's Features and ghosting for several comic strip artists, Sherry became the art director for Link Aviation in 1962 and worked there for 20 years.
