  • Provenance: Notes:
The three photographs not credited to Fenton are as follows.
A portrait of Company Sergeant William Christie and Sergeant Samuel McGifford of the British Army during the Crimean War, 1856, both of the 4th Battalion Royal Artillery. Christie, on the left, is holding a banner depicting St. Michael and McGifford, at the right, is holding a banner of St. George and the Dragon. After Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the Woolwich Barracks to welcome a group of artillery back from the Crimea, they commissioned a series of portraits of the men from the photographers Joseph Cundall and Robert Howlett.

Portrait of 5 figures, identified in the caption, one holding a dog, but with the figures identified in pencil.

Soldiers with artillery, one wearing a kilt, also identified in pencil.
