Folio, 285x200 mm, contemporary Nuremberg Augustinian binding of blind tooled .25 calf, wooden boards with worn original paper label on front cover, brass catches, lacks clasps, spine ends chipped, raised bands worn through; occasional light dampstaining, few small wormholes through most of volume, not impairing legibility, early signature on title and inscriptions on rear pastedown, otherwise an ATTRACTIVE COPY, ENTIRELY UNRESTORED. [Strassburg: Johann Pruss, not before 6 April 1490] [6,000-9000 The 2anonymous and undated editions ascribed to Pruss of Rolewinck's popular world chronicle are apparently a single edition with some gatherings reset; this copy has the first 2 gatherings in the setting transcribed in Polain 3362, and the last gathering as in Polain 3363.BMC I, 127; Polain 3362-63; Goff R275-76. With the bookplates of the Episcopal Library of Regensburg, and the typefounder and printing historian Talbot Baines Reed, sold by him to the library of the St. Bride Foundation, with their stamps.
