Grant LaFarge, recommending that he be considered to build the proposed agricultural building. 1 page, 4to, "Vice President's Chamber" stationery; moderate fading to signature, faint toning at upper left corner. With the original envelope, mounted at corners to front free endpaper (behind letter). Also with a slip of paper Signed and dated by Wister on April 26, 1906 mounted to front pastedown, and an ALS by Edith Kermit Roosevelt to Dr. Morgan concerning payment for medical visits dated August 11 [1904] mounted along left edge to half-title. The book, 8vo, publisher's cloth, corners bumped, some rubbing to spine ends; publisher's advance review label and bookseller's label on front pastedown, moderate scattered foxing to preliminaries; lacking dust jacket. First Edition, advance review copy. New York, 1930; letter: Washington, 15 March 1901

The letter: "This will introduce to you Mr. C. Grant LaFarge, a member of one of the best architectural firms in New York. So highly have I thought of the firm that I appointed his partner, Mr. G.L. Heins, State Architect while I was Governor, and I had under me no more competent official. I understand that you are about to start the Agricultural Building . . . ."
