ROOSEVELT, THODORE. Typed Letter Signed, as President, to Helen M. Washington, 12 March 1903

  • Notes: ". . . I question greatly if the President has any right to interfere in such a matter. Will you get the doctor to specify exactly what he wishes me to do, and I shall take the matter up with the State Department?"
Helen Corbin (Mrs. Helen Heinl; 1882-1968) was a concert pianist, who probably provided music lessons to Roosevelt's daughter Ethel while she attended the National Cathedral School.
