First edition, first printing, quarto; with damaged type in "morning" on page 116; 12 full-color plates and numerous text illustrations throughout by Neill, with the frontispiece caption misprint "Oniberon" for "Quiberon"; bound in brick red cloth, pictorial label to front board, illustrated endpapers, all edges stained yellow; in the first state dust jacket with titles through Giant Horse listed on lower flap (three vertical creases to jacket, area of spine partially torn, few small spots of browned tape residue, minor edge wear, soling; small open tear at gutter of one plate; marginal tear affecting one word of text to pp. 119-120, offsetting from frontispiece and one other plate, stamp to ownership leaf; area of browning to endpapers from pastedown glue); 9 x 6 ½ in.

[Together with] Another copy, as above, but with undamaged type for "r" in "morning" on page 116 (lacking jacket; offsetting from frontispiece, few thumbmarks, soiling to one leaf, ink name to ownership leaf; front hinge cracked).

[And] A third copy, also as above, but with the damaged type in "morning" (also lacking jacket; offsetting from plates throughout, creasing to first 15 or so leaves; lightly rubbed and bumped, front hinge cracked, browning to lower pastedown from glue).
