  • Notes: first edition, except for parts 1 and 2, which are from a later edition with Latin text only. The Thesaurus is an illustrated inventory of Ruysch's anatomical collection, one of the most important of the period in Holland, later acquired by Peter the Great. "Ruysch perfected the method of anatomical injection, which he used to illustrate the detailed structure of the vascular system and to prepare wonderfully lifelike and durable anatomical specimens... Ruysch's skill in preparing anatomical specimens remains unsurpassed even today"--Norman 1875. Garrison-Morton 389.
