Red chalk on cream laid paper. 170x120 mm; 6 3/4x4 3/4 inches. Partial circular watermark.

Rosa used the same composition for one of his Figurine etchings (Bartsch 70; Wallace 69). According to Wallace, there are 2 pen and brown ink drawings of this subject; one is in Chatsworth, Collection of the Duke of Devonshire, and the other is in the Teylers Museum, Haarlem.
