Provenance: acquired directly from the artist; private collection, Los Angeles, California.

Exhibited: Sam Gilliam, Michael H. Lord Gallery, Palm Springs, California, with the gallery label on the verso.

This acrylic on board is a very good example of the experimental raking technique that Sam Gilliam used in his painting throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
