The Chicago World's Fair marked the first time that neon lights were used extensively, and this poster reflects the novelty, energy and brightness of the many displays. Born in Hungary, Katz was a prominent Jewish artist who worked extensively on WPA projects including murals, illustrations and stained glass. World of Tomorrow p. 14.
