Provenance: gift from the artist to the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, New York (2009).

Dancer, designer, illustrator and artist, Saul Bolasni had many talents. Bolasni performed with the Valerie Bettis Dance Company and designed costumes for television and theater. He provided illustrations for a number of magazines and in 1942 one of them appeared on the front of the New Yorker. His works are in the collections of The Museum of the City of New York, the Lincoln Center Library, and the National Portrait Gallery.
