SCHUYLER, GEORGE S. Black No More. 8vo, tiny number stamp on front free endpaper. New York, (1931) E250/350 FIRST EDITION. Highly satirical science-fiction novel by the noted conservative. Written at the height of the Harlem Renaissance, it deals with a process whereby blacks can become white. Schuyler's sarcasm is clear from his dedication: "This book is dedicated to all Caucasions in the Great Republic who can trace their ancestry back ten generations and confidently assert that there are no black leaves, twigs, limbs or branches on their family tree." Whiteman pages 42-43; Blockson Collection 4833.
