(SCIENCE)
Thomas Edison & Charles Proteus Steinmetz. Silver print, 6 1/2x8 3/8 inches (16.5x21.3 cm.). Circa 1920s

  • Notes: Charles Proteus Steinmetz, though small in stature, was a giant among scientific thinkers. A contemporary of Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, and Thomas Edison, Steinmetz was nicknamed The Wizard of Schenectady and revolutionized the filed of electrical engineering.

Edison was nearly deaf by the time he and Steinmetz finally met, but they were able to communicate through messages that Steinmetz tapped out on Edison's knee, much to the delight of both scientists.
