  • Condition: Sebastião Salgado's "Coal Mining, Dhanbad, State of Bihar, India" (1989) is in excellent condition. The print is lustrous and bright, with a clean, neat surface, and no apparent flaws. With striking contrast and texture throughout, the print exemplifies Salgado's dynamic approach to image making.

The margins and verso are also bright, clean, and neat. With Salgado's embossed blind stamp on recto, and his signature, partial title, date, and edition notation 24/300 in pencil on verso.

The accompanying book, Workers: An Archaeology of the Industrial Age, is also in excellent condition. The gray cloth boards are neat and clean, with a tight binding. The dust jacket evidences very slight superficial rubs near the edges, likely related to the slipcase. The gray slipcase is also overall bright, with just one light area of staining on the back, and exceedingly faint shelf wear.

This limited edition of 300 examples is signed by Salgado.
