Photomontage [lynching in front of the U. S. Capitol]. Hand-painted silver prints, 7 1/2x5 inches (19.1x12.7 cm.), initialed "HC" in ink on recto; with Russian notations crediting Sedel"nikov, in pencil, on mount verso. 1935
- Notes: In the 1920's Sedel'nikov was employed by the state publishing house (Gozisdat) as a typographer, and performed various functions as an editor and designer. In the 1930s he honed his skills as a book and magazine designer. His work, which incorporated photography and hand-painting, was included in book exhibitions, and most recently in "The Russian Avant-Garde Book," at the Museum of Modern Art, in 2002.
