SENDAK, MAURICE. Group of three untitled pencil drawings from a Bell Atlantic advertising campaign called "Wild Things Are Happening." One looks rather like Sendak's character Max from "Where the Wild Things Are," the others are of a black girl in 2 poses: one with her arms above her head, the other with her arms folded across her chest. Each of the 3 is signed by Sendak. The boy is on a 6 3/4x7 inch sheet of onion skin, the girl is on a single sheet of 6x4 1/2 inch artist's paper. Np, circa 1980's

  • Notes: On the boy's picture Sendak has written, presumably to the copywriter, "Jonathan, look at the 'business' sketches - I believe there are black kids there too. MS." In addition, he has signed beneath the drawing and has also signed the girls' picture.
