  • Notes: Includes an account of the author's service in the British navy during the American Revolution (pages 32-44), a general history of the American Revolution (45-69), and an account of the author's 1787 river journey from New Orleans to Niagara Falls, encountering various American Indian tribes along the way (99-122). "Sharan seems to have been a sailor, wheelwright, and itinerant trader of an adventurous disposition . . . it is hard to accept his story"--Dow's Niagara Falls 89.
