Condition B+: restoration and restored losses along vertical and horizontal folds; restored loss in left margin; minor repaired tears at edges.
Situated on the banks of the Ganges, Benares (Varanasi) is one of the seven Holy Cities of India. Shep, an English artist who designed a number of posters promoting travel in India, colorfully depicts the Alamgir Mosque and the Panchganga Ghat. The city has 88 ghats, which are riverfront steps used for hygiene, religious and in some cases, cremation purposes.
