Limited edition, oblong quarto; number 16 of 150 copies, signed by the artist in pencil on the colophon; with the text booklet by Anita Desai; 16 prints by Shettar, folded accordion-style, including various combinations of solar etchings, spitbite etchings, laser cuts, silkscreens, woodcuts, and pigment prints; in a metal zinc-alloy binding inlaid with silver by Shettar in collaboration with M.A. Rauf and Mohammed Abdul Bari; housed in the original felt-lined gray buckram clamshell box, printed in black; 11 x 15 in.

Shettar's Varsha includes sixteen prints that each represent a stage of the monsoon cycle, and the classical Indian astronomy used to predict the storms. The artist's work is accompanied by an original essay by Desai, as well as poetry by Bhavabhti and Rabindranath Tagore and the lyrics from a Kannada folk song.
