A graduate of the Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music in 1956, Fukada's unique Pop Art style shows the influence of the Surrealists as well as the Dutch engraver M.C. Escher. Since the mid 1980's, Fukada has produced a seemingly endless series of visual puns, often incorporating elements of the human body in a style which he once referred to as "Images of Illusion". These two posters are archetypical of his system: 1982 was the year of the shaking hands, and he played with the concept in a totally free way. Since the recent death of Ikko Tanaka, Fukada has become the president of JAGDA. Shigeo Fukuda no. 8, p. 20, Fukuda no 62.
