Although today it is still not finished, Barcelona's Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia is one of the city's most famous landmarks. Designed by artist Antoni Gaudi, who devoted himself to its construction from 1883 until his death in 1926, the edifice is whimsical yet structured, imposing yet approachable and devoutly religious yet secularly appealing. Here, the mighty building is viewed from such a bird's-eye vantage point that we even see the outline of a plane soaring above the cityscape.
