- Notes: An uncommon Civil Rights case in which the appellants were white. Grattan and Hedman brought suit against Coppin College, a predominantly Black college, claiming racial bias in employment. The case was awarded to them once and again on appeal, and finally brought before the Supreme Court which found in their favor by upholding the decision of the Court of Appeals.
