(SLAVE DOCUMENT.) Bill of sale for Negro Woman named Lily Single 4to sheet, handwritten on lined blue paper, recto only; tiny nick at right margin of fold. [Oklahoma], 19 February 1859 E800/1,200 SLAVE PURCHASE BY THE BROTHER OF A CHOCTAW INDIAN CHIEF. While not signed by buyer Horbus Lafloore, the document lists him as the buyer from J. R. T. Cobb, the seller, and is signed by two witnesses. It may be Lafloore could not write, thus did not sign. Horbus Lafloore was the brother of William Lafloore, a Choctaw Indian chief. Laflore County, Oklahoma was named for him.
