Woodcut head and tail-pieces; original stiff wrappers with larger woodcut vignettes; page 42 with woodcut of Wedgewood's famous image of the kneeling slave with the caption "Am I not a Man and a Brother?" Some light wear with a one inch closed split at the top of the spine; small, 1/2 inch of blank margin of the title-page torn away. New York, 1816

  • Notes: probable fourth american edition of this interesting anti-slavery alphabet.
