(SLAVERY AND ABOLITION.) ANTI-SLAVERY CONVENTION OF 1833. Slavery in the United States (drop title).

(SLAVERY AND ABOLITION.) ANTI-SLAVERY CONVENTION OF 1833. Slavery in the United States (drop title). Engraved vignette of a kneeling slave with the motto "Am I not a Man and a Brother?" at the head of the first page. 12 pages. Small 8vo, some foxing throughout. [Philadelphia], 1833

  • Notes: An unusual little anti-slavery pamphlet excerpting the determinations of the 1833 Anti-Slavery Convention held at Adelphi Hall in Philadelphia. Pages 9 through 12 constitute the "Declaration of the National Anti-Slavery Convention," written by William Lloyd Garrison, followed a list of signatories. We could find no reference to this little pamphlet in any of the standard references.
  • Condition: All items are offered for sale subject to Swann Galleries' standard terms and conditions of sale, which are published in our catalogues.
