(SLAVERY AND ABOLITION.) Partially Printed Document, Bill of Sale for "Negro woman by name of Minnah," accomplished by hand, 9 5/8 x 6 1/8 inches; paper evenly toned; docketed on the reverse. Old wax seal present; with a separate long sheet of paper that bears two words "Negroe Notes." 18 December, 1772

  • Notes: Benjamin Payne of Hartford, sells Samuel Forbes of Canaan in the colony of Connecticut one Negro woman by the name of Minnah, about twenty-one years old, for the sum of fifty-two pounds, ten shillings.
