With the original holograph mailing envelope Signed. Siasconset, 30 July 1951 E1,500/2,500 ". . .Lord. The Summer is half gone. I can't think where. Do you know I've lost only three days of work since February. I have about 600 pages ofmy book done only about 400 to go. The title is going to be East of Eden and it sounds soft until you read the first 16 verses of the 4th chapter of Genesis from which it was taken. Do you like the title?"
