Very light pencil scrawls on a few backs. Rhode Island: V. S. W. Parkhurst, 1852 E1,000/1,500 UNUSUAL CARD GAME copyrighted same year as Harriet Beecher Stowe's best-seller. Rules, in part: "Let all the cards except Justice be well shuffled and dealt among the players. Let every one ascertain what family would be most pleasing to com-plete Object is to complete the 4 families of 4 cards each. There are card forfeiture rules as well as getting "stuck" with Simon Legree, etc. The winner must hold "Justice," "Little Eva" and "Uncle Tom."
